Over 100 Californians attended the Convention of States Lobby Day in Sacramento yesterday, securing 6 co-sponsors for Convention of States legislation.
After a rally on the steps of the capitol, 30 teams distributed legislative packets to their California state representatives. Though some were unfamiliar with the Article V movement, others expressed support for the effort to call a Convention of States.
Six of these legislators decided to co-sponsor our Article V Convention of States application, which will be considered in the upcoming weeks.
Young and old attended the event, including three high school students who, I believe, had more knowledge of the Constitution than almost anyone else present!
We had a fantastic time, and we're looking forward to hosting more events in California as the legislature continues to meet.
