Maryland Senate and House Committees Refuse to Vote on Convention of States Application!
Many of you took the time to call and send emails to the committee members that heard testimony on on SJ3 and HJ7.
Many of you also took time out of your day to testify before them.
Well, both of these committees refuse to vote on our Article V resolutions to limit the power of the federal government! They apparently don't care about what the people of Maryland have to say and only want to protect the Establishment in Washington D.C. Not familiar with Article V or the Convention of States Process? Check out this 3-minute video.
So what are we going to do about?
Here is the plan! We need as many of you as possible to send emails to members of both committees urging them to please vote NOW on our resolutions. We also need you to ask nicely on the Facebook pages of the committee Chairs to vote on our resolutions so their constituents can see that they are willing to listen to the people of Maryland.

CALL TO ACTION:
1. CALL 410-841-3916 or Toll-free in MD 1-800-492-7122 ext. 3916 and leave a message requesting that the members of the House Rules and Executive Nominations Committee vote in support of HJ7. When leaving your message remember to provide your name, address and a short message why you want them to pass HJ7. Also, request that your message be delivered to all 24 members of the committee.
Here are some reasons why HJ7 must pass:
Because it’s time to ensure that no President can exceed his/her constitutional authority through overreaching executive orders.
Because decisions for Maryland should be made in Maryland.
Because the people of Maryland should be free to decide on policies and curriculum for our schools without interference from the federal government.
Because D.C. has proven itself irresponsible.
Because decisions made in D.C. are decisions influenced more by lobbyists and special interests than by the people.
Because a power-hungry federal government will never restrain its own power.
Because Americans were never meant to be ruled by unelected bureaucrats in a distant capital.
Because the power cabal in Washington, D.C. are out of touch with ordinary Americans.
Because the states, acting together, are the last hope for restoring the Republic.
Because the Article V Convention for Proposing Amendments was given to us for such a time as this.
Because D.C. has proven itself irresponsible.
Because decisions made in D.C. are decisions influenced more by lobbyists and special interests than by the people.

Two Convention of States Article V Applications Have Been Filed In The Maryland Legislature!
We've done it! The Convention of States Project's application was officially filed in the Maryland legislature!
Senator Gail Bates and Delegate Tony McConkey filed the application today, seeking an amendment-proposing convention of the states to restore our Republic.
Its official title will be Senate Joint Resolution 3, and House Joint Resolution 7. In conformity with the resolutions filed in 38 states in 2015 and already passed in 8 states, SJ3 and HJ7 sets the agenda of the meeting to consider amendments that "impose fiscal restraints on the federal government, limit the power and jurisdiction of the federal government, and limit the terms of office for its officials and for members of Congress."
The process has officially begun, and we will be keeping you updated at every step along the way. Please take a moment right now to contact your state legislators and ask them to support SJ3 and HJ7.
COME AND SHOW YOUR SUPPORT AT BOTH OF THESE HEARINGS! If you plan to testify at the hearing please arrive an hour and a half early to sign up to testify. Please read Testimony Guidelines. Please contact Ronald Schwier or Mike O'Dell if you plan to attend and testify in order to coordinate together (see contact info below).

Senator Gail Bates and Delegate Tony McConkey Sponsor Convention of States Application!
It's official! Senator Gail Bates and Delegate Tony McConkey have committed to sponsoring the Convention of States Project application in Maryland during the 2017 legislative session!
This means that our Maryland legislators will have the opportunity to join their colleagues from sister states who have already passed applications for a state-led convention to propose constitutional amendments that will restrict federal power and restore power to the states.
Please take a moment to thank both of them for being true patriots by leading this historic effort.

Create a Buzz About the Convention of States
We Need to Get People Talking about Convention of States in Maryland
Right now, we have two joint resolutions that were introduced into the Maryland General Assembly: SJ4 in the Senate and HJ3 in the House of Delegates. SJ4 went to the Education, Health, and Environmental Affairs Committee on February 18th and HJ3 went to the Rules and Executive Nominations Committee on February 29th.
Unfortunately, both resolutions seem unlikely to be voted on by their respective committees. That is why we need your help. Recently, we have asked the Convention of States supporters to call, write, and visit their legislators to show support for these resolutions. Now we are asking that all patriots who support these resolutions help us create a popular surge of support by writing letters to the editor of the local papers and calling in to the local morning radio talk programs to discuss how important these resolutions are to each individual, our state, and the nation.
It is our hope that by writing letters to the editor and calling into radio programs it will create a buzz in the media and draw attention to these two resolutions. We want to create excitement and spread the word about the Convention of States effort in Maryland.
Please help us spread the word.
Here are links to Maryland newspapers. Please keep in mind that letters to the editor are generally kept to under 250 words: http://www.usnpl.com/mdnews.php.
You can find local Washington Metro radio stations here: http://www.ontheradio.net/metro/washington_dc.aspx.

Please Pass HJ3
Delegate,
The federal government is too big and has overreached in so many areas of our lives. It is time for the states to stand up to this excess power by reining it in with a few amendments to restore the balance of power back to the states.
Our Constitution is the greatest on earth and that is because of the amending process found in Article V to allow We The People to address the concerns we are facing. The time has arrived for the state legislatures to exercise their constitutional duty and authority by supporting HJ3. Please vote to pass HJ3 to allow our nation to fix the problems that the federal government has created and refuses to correct.
Sincerely,
APPEAR IN PERSON
Would you also be willing to attend the hearing with us so that you can either speak in favor of the application or just be a visible show of support for it? Please join us in showing up, standing up, and speaking up for the restoration of self-governance through this constitutional process!
