We have great news from Missouri!
Missouri state legislators have officially filed multiple resolutions in both the House (HCR 57, 64) and the Senate (SCR 44, 53) that seek an amendment-proposing Convention of States to curb the federal government’s abuse of power by imposing fiscal restraints on Congress, limiting the jurisdiction of the federal government, and imposing term limits for its officials.
“We know that D.C. is broken and history shows that the federal government will not restrain itself—with record debt, regulation and taxes,” said Mark Meckler, co-founder, the Convention of States Project. “We have two choices: 1) to sit back and hope that someone else fixes things or, 2) the Convention of States option—using the Constitution to bring the only solution that can truly fix the problems America faces. The only viable solution bigger than the problem of an out-of-control federal government is Article V.”

In the Missouri House, the Convention of States resolutions are sponsored by Representatives Burlison (HCR 57) and Moon (HCR 64). The Senate sponsors are Schaefer (SCR 53) and Dixon (SCR 44).
A number of major public figures have endorsed the Convention of States option in recent months. Among them are Marco Rubio, Mark Levin, Senator Tom Coburn, Sean Hannity, Governor Mike Huckabee, Governor Sarah Palin, Governor Bobby Jindal, Governor Greg Abbott, and Thomas Sowell. Under Article V, two-thirds of the states must pass a resolution applying for a convention; once called, three-fourths of the states must ratify any proposed amendment to the Constitution.
