Convention of States New York recruits supporters at Richmond County Fair

The grassroots are the key to victory -- high numbers ensure success. So are you ready to talk to your friends about the Convention of States Project?

Join our team as a District Captain!

Our goal is to find one District Captain in every New York state house district. The District Captain's mission is simple: find 100 people in your district willing to contact their state legislators in support of Convention of States legislation next session.

It doesn't take a huge time commitment to make a difference. Five constituent phone calls is often enough to move an issue to the top of a state legislator's priority list. In person meetings are even more effective.

Get involved today by reaching out to your state legislators. Don't know what to say?

If you'd like a Convention of States leader to attend a meeting with you and your legislator, contact your state’s legislative liaison.

Senator Joseph Griffo Introduces Convention of States Application in New York Legislature!

We've done it! Today, the Convention of States Project's application was officially filed in the New York legislature! Senator Joseph Griffo (47th District) filed the application, seeking an amendment-proposing convention of the states to restore our Republic.

Its number will be B944. In conformity with the resolutions filed in 29 other states in 2017 and already passed in 9 states, B944 sets the agenda of the meeting to consider amendments that "impose fiscal restraints on the federal government, limit the power and jurisdiction of the federal government, and limit the terms of office for its officials and for members of Congress."

The process has officially begun, and we will be keeping you updated at every step along the way. Please take a moment right now to contact your state legislators and ask them to support B944 and to become a co-sponsor! Look Up My State Legislators

Show your support now by contacting Senator Griffo and thanking him for being a Defender of Liberty in the New York Legislature!

New York Team Gets Creative: Hundreds attend barn event!!

NY team gets creative: Hundreds attend barn event

We've said it before, and we'll say it again: our volunteers are the best in the nation.

The Convention of States Project team in New York recently held an event at a camp outside Binghamton, NY. Despite the out-of-the-way location, hundreds of interested citizens showed up to learn more about the Convention of States movement and what they could do to help.

It all started when New York District Captain Lorraine Taylor contacted Charlie Kark, a local political leader and the owner of the camp. She spoke with him about the Article V movement and explained how a Convention of States could stop the abuses of the federal government. She was so convincing that Charlie invited her to hold an event and presentation at his camp.

They worked over the next several months to get things ready, purchasing a projector, building a screen, and spreading the word. It soon became apparent that the camp's barn would be the only building large enough to hold all the interested New Yorkers.

The event took place on September 20 at 6:30pm. It began with a dinner, followed by a Convention of States presentation from Lorraine. Afterwards, other members of the NY Convention of States team mingled with the crowd to answer questions and sign up volunteers.

All-in-all, 225 people showed up to hear Lorraine's presentation, and the New York team secured numerous additional volunteers.

The New York barn event is a great example of how our volunteers are spreading the word all across the country. One simple phone conversation sparked this fantastic event, and we're so grateful to Lorraine and all the other members of the NY team that worked so hard to make it happen.
