One person CAN make a difference

The following letter was written by Missouri Convention of States supporter Linda Behle and originally published on the Springfield News-Leader.

Think one person can’t make a difference? What if Thomas Jefferson had never penned the Declaration of Independence? If Winston Churchill had never led the resistance against Nazi Germany? If Rosa Parks had chosen to sit at the back of the bus?

Resistance against oppression is born once again with a grassroots campaign for an Article V Convention of States. The framers of the Constitution provided States the avenue to amend the Constitution if ever the federal government became out of control.

Sadly, that day is here! Executive orders, Congressional abdication, and activist Supreme Court judges are dismantling the Constitution daily. The federal debt is now 19 trillion dollars and every man, woman, and child living in the United States owes $58,000 towards this debt. Imagine handing your newborn a bill for $58,000. This is madness!

Convention of States, a Project of Citizens for Self Governance, is a grassroots organization that seeks a limited convention to impose fiscal restraint, limit the scope, power, and jurisdiction of the federal government, and impose term limits for all federal officials and Congress.

Currently, the Missouri House and Senate has introduced resolutions calling for an Article V Convention of States. “We The People” begins the Constitution. The people’s voice is their state legislator who can call for an Article V Convention of States to rein in federal overreach and tell Washington D.C., we want our country back!

Be that person and make a difference to the nation and to future generations. Take the time to write, call, and speak passionately to your state legislators about regaining control of the federal government by supporting Convention of States. Join this historic grassroots movement to save the Constitutional Republic. There is a solution as big as the problem.
