West Virginia, Utah pass committee, South Carolina in holding pattern

It was an inspiring day yesterday at the Convention of States Project.

Despite the extremely short notice, volunteers in West Virginia and Utah answered the call to action and contacted the appropriate committee members in time to help pass the Convention of States application.

    • The West Virginia Senate Interstate Cooperation Committee passed our resolution -- SCR 21 -- by a unanimous voice vote.
    • The Utah House Revenue and Taxation Committee passed our resolution -- HJR 14 -- by a vote of 7-4.

Thank you for taking the time to contact these committee members and voice your support for the Convention of States Article V application. Be looking for an email from your state leaders regarding the next steps for the application in your state.

In South Carolina, the Senate Judiciary Subcommittee heard testimony regarding our application -- S.198 -- but decided to suspend the vote. The vote will likely take place next Wednesday.

If you live in South Carolina, please contact the members of the Senate Judiciary Committee TODAY and voice your support for S.198. Click here for their contact information.

Again, thank you for all your hard work. We'll be sure to keep you abreast of any latest news and developments.
