Wisconsin Call To Action

Cedarburg Hears the Message!

Cedarburg, WI -- It was a full house in Cedarburg last Thursday for a Pints and Politics event presented by the Ozaukee Republican Party.  The crowd received the information and was inspired to take action regarding the Convention of States (COS). Presenting was David Schneider, Region Director for Convention of States.  David was joined by Eric O’Keefe, Director of Citizens for Self-Governance; WI State Representative Bob Gannon (58th District); and Tom Peters, WI State Director for Convention of States.

The ‘Round Table’ format offered the audience plenty of opportunities for spirited exchanges with the panel.  During one lively moment concerning Our Nations “rapidly deteriorating condition” Rep. Gannon took the microphone and announced that he was Authoring the COS Resolution which is to be introduced in the Wisconsin Assembly this week!  The Resolution’s Co-Authors are:  Rep. Jeremy Thiesfeldt (52nd District) and Jesse Kremer (59th District).  These Legislative Patriots will be adding Co-Sponsors as the days and weeks unfold.

I again ask all COS supporters & prospects [as well as any WI citizen whom is concerned about your children & grandchildren’s future], to call your State Senator [click on link here], ask to speak to them or insist on a phone call back to politely discuss this topic.  Please encourage them to be the COS Resolution’s Senatorial Author and join Rep. Gannon in fostering this vital RESOLUTION through BOTH WISCONSIN LEGISLATIVE CHAMBERS for Passage in early spring 2016! Please also don’t let them settle for supporting just a Balanced Budget application for a convention.  If you Senator says   Let’s make Wisconsin one of the 1st ten states to get our COS PETITION to the US Congress!

All of us have enjoyed the freedom & liberties fought and died for by our parents & grandparents before us.  IF WE DO NOT ALTER / CHANGE THE DIRECTION OUR NATION IS HEADING (and at an accelerating & frightening pace) the legacy we will leave our successors is that they will be far worse off than we inherited from our folks.  Our children & grandchildren DESERVE THE SAME OPPORTUNITY WE HAVE HAD TO DREAM & BECOME WHATEVER THEY WANT TO BE IN A PROSPEROUS UNITED STATES OF AMERICA!  We must NOT ACCEPT THE “Notion” THAT AMERICA’S BEST DAYS ARE BEHIND US!  Our Founding Fathers risked everything to ensure that we would continue to be free in God’s Blessed Nation. An Awakened, Educated, and “Fired-Up” Citizenry will repair our legacy to ENSURE OUR NATION LIVES & PROSPERS ONWARD FOR MANY MORE GENERATIONS.

Thank-You For All You Do For Our Worthy, Patriotic Cause!   May GOD BLESS & GUIDE WISCONSINITES & its LEGISLATURE IN THE MONTHS AHEAD!

Brave Legislator Steps Up in Wisconsin

Madison, WI –

A legislator in the Wisconsin Assembly has stepped up to introduce the Convention of States model legislation!  That legislator is actively seeking co-sponsorship from other State Representatives now!

I urge you to call your State Representative today to encourage them to co-sponsor the Convention of States application to add Wisconsin to the list calling for a Convention not only to propose a Balanced Budget Amendment, but also to propose amendments placing fiscal restraints on the federal government, limiting its size, scope, and jurisdiction, and imposing term limits on federal officials including Congress and the Supreme Court.

Find your State Representative HERE, and call him or her today! Respond to with any correspondence you send or receive back.

Wisconsin Action Needed

Without your intervention, Wisconsin could be left out of the Convention of States (COS) conversation altogether, all because the legislature in Madison is being held hostage on the subject by a single legislator.

Yes, that’s right--a single legislator believes that Wisconsin should not join the 37 other states that have already begun considering our model legislation. This legislation would have Wisconsin apply as provided in Article V of the US Constitution, to hold a Convention of States to propose constitutional amendments  placing fiscal restraints on the federal government, limiting its size, scope, and jurisdiction, and imposing term limits on federal officials including Congress and the Supreme Court.

Why would he do this? Because he believes the people of Wisconsin can’t handle considering two applications at the same time.  An Article V application proposing only a Balanced Budget Amendment already passed through the General Assembly earlier this year, and is set to be introduced in the Senate very soon.

While a Balanced Budget Amendment is important, it alone will not fix the colossal mess we have in Washington DC. Consider what could happen if the States ratify only a Balanced Budget Amendment without any tax reforms--Congress could simply raise taxes without making the kind of reforms that are desperately needed.  Washington DC is broken in multiple ways.  We need a solution that will address all of the major, systemic problems that have turned our federal system upside down.  The COS application allows the States to propose multiple amendments, to make real reforms such as those Mark Levin promotes in his book, The Liberty Amendments,.  If you want term limits, tax and spending reform, an end to rule-by-bureaucrats, and a Balanced Budget Amendment, there is only one mechanism that can provide that, and it is the Convention of States model legislation.

I urge you to call your State Senator and Representative today. Tell them you want real, meaningful reform to a runaway Washington, D.C.! They can help by supporting the Convention of States model legislation.
