Have you noticed that New Jersey has a problem with funding state pensions? In a recent article posted at NJ Spotlight, Governor Chris Christie’s former State Treasurer, Andrew Sidamon-Eristoff, wrote that he believes the federalization of the state's pension plans to be inevitable. Mr. Sidamon-Eristoff feels that New Jersey is politically incapable of managing its own pension challenges, and comments that the federalization is a necessary solution.
One cannot imagine that New Jersey Democrats would take kindly to losing control over benefit levels through a federal takeover, especially with how fiercely they reject the current administration led by President Trump. But will they be able to resist the expanding reach of the massive federal government?
The New Jersey State Representatives listed below have committed to sponsoring the Convention of States Project application in New Jersey during the 2017 legislative session! This means that our New Jersey legislators will have the opportunity to join their colleagues from sister states who have already passed applications for a state-led convention to propose constitutional amendments that will restrict federal power, and restore power to the states. View and/or download these resolutions: SCR42 and ACR84
Please take a moment to thank your Representatives for being a true patriot by leading this historic effort. And stay tuned! We will need to do our part as the grassroots to support them in their efforts, by making phone calls, and sending e-mails at key points in the legislative process.
Thank you for standing shoulder to shoulder with me as we do our part to restore real self-governance in America. Please leave these Representatives a message thanking them for taking the lead on this and sponsoring our application.

We've done it! The Convention of States Project's application was officially filed in the New Jersey legislature! Assemblyman Michael Patrick Carroll's and Senator Joseph Pennacchio's companion resolutions (ACR84/SCR42) seek an amendment-proposing convention of the states to restore our Republic. Its official title will be "Applies to Congress for an Article V Convention of States to limit certain powers of the federal government and terms of office."
In conformity with the resolutions filed in 38 states in 2015 and already passed in 4 states, ACR84 & SCR42 set the agenda of the meeting to consider amendments that "impose fiscal restraints on the federal government, limit the power and jurisdiction of the federal government, and limit the terms of office for its officials and for members of Congress." The process has officially begun, and we will be keeping you updated at every step along the way. Please take a moment right now to contact your state legislators and ask them to support ACR84 & SCR42.
This is a great letter to the editor written by a Convention of States volunteer in New Jersey.
Many Americans feel that our federal government has demonstrated a fair amount of overreach during past presidential administrations and is not on the right path toward preserving our Constitutional rights to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. A recent concern that New Jerseyans have is the Common Core State Standards program and the federal government’s influence over it. Net neutrality proposed by the FCC is another concern.Read more
